LEADERSHIP TIP:

If you want to be an effective leader, then you must be intentional about developing the people around you. This begins with a change in your mindset about how you see yourself and how you see those around you.

When you begin to see others as creative, resourceful, and innovative you will stop being the go-to person for all the answers. Instead you will take time in supporting the growth of others by asking questions, listening more, and encouraging their brilliance to come forth.

You are creating an environment where they are less dependent on you and more confident in their own resourcefulness to find the answers, take on the challenge, take ownership and responsibility for the process.

So who are the people around you that could benefit? Are they students, staff, teachers, children, managers, employees or athletes? The answer to that question depends on your sphere that you are called to influence.

Watch the video below to learn the two questions that can help you begin the process of becoming a more effective, intentional leader.

COACHING QUESTION:

How does coaching help you grow?

Many clients have limiting beliefs, assumptions and fears that can impede their ability to see the possibilities before them. So what does that mean?

Well, for example, many clients embrace the fear that they are not good enough. When this belief is cemented in their mind, what do you think happens when they are presented with an opportunity? How about a manager who feels that the only way they can show value is by saying "yes" to every project that comes his/her way?

I am curious what is coming up for you as you are reading this?

The bottom line is that many of these beliefs, assumptions and fears can keep people stuck in unfulfilling situations for years.

The coaching conversation uncovers the areas that prohibits your growth and gives you the opportunity to decide how you might want to make a different choice.
